About Festa di San Ermacora

At the end of July, Chions celebrates its patrons, Saints Ermacora and Fortunato, with one of the longest-running and most popular festivals in the Pordenone plain. In Piazza Concordato, amidst barbecues, gnocchi, live orchestras, a youth area with DJ sets, and a funfair, the festival combines tradition, gastronomy, and environmental awareness with Ecofesta certification.

The Patrons of Chions

In the Pordenone plain, where the Sile river flows between fields and ancient villages, the municipality of Chions celebrates its patron saints, Ermacora and Fortunato, the first martyrs of the Church of Aquileia and central figures of Friulian devotion. The patronal festival, organised by the Pro Loco Chions since 1979, has become over the years one of the most important and anticipated summer festivals in the area.

A Cuisine to Please Everyone

The gastronomic heart of the festival is rich and well-organised: barbecued grilled meats, fresh gnocchi with various sauces, even Sicilian arancini, and vegetarian options for every taste. An efficient ordering system eliminates queues, a sign of a well-oiled organisational machine. Everything takes place in Piazza Concordato, at the town's sports facilities.

Music, Sports, and the Youngest

The evenings are enlivened by live orchestras with a free-entry dance floor, while a dedicated youth area offers DJ sets and music for younger audiences. For families, there is a funfair for children, and the programme also includes sporting events such as the green volley tournament and the motorcycle rally. A complete festival, capable of appealing to all generations.

A Festival that Respects the Environment

The Festeggiamenti di San Ermacora are certified as Ecofesta, an award that recognises the commitment to waste reduction and the sustainability of the event. Added value for a village festival that, while rooted in religious tradition, looks responsibly to the future.

Festa di San Ermacora โ€” edition 2026

The Festeggiamenti di San Ermacora in Chions are expected at the end of July 2026, during the usual period for the patronal festival of Saints Ermacora and Fortunato: barbecues, gnocchi, live orchestras, a youth area with DJ sets, and a funfair in Piazza Concordato, with Ecofesta certification.

The 2026 edition of the Festeggiamenti di San Ermacora is expected during the usual end of July period, linked to the feast of Saints Ermacora and Fortunato. The festival, organised by Pro Loco Chions, confirms its tried-and-tested formula that combines gastronomy, music for all ages, and attention to environmental sustainability.
