A village festival in the green

There is a corner of Friuli, on the border with Veneto, where every summer the village gathers for a big festival: it is Frattina, a hamlet of Pravisdomini, in the province of Pordenone. Here the Festa tra il Verde reaches its 45th edition in 2026, confirming itself as one of the longest-running and most attended sagre (traditional festivals) in the Bassa pordenonese area. The name is no coincidence: the festival takes place in the park adjacent to the church of Frattina, a green setting that sets a convivial tone for the entire event.

A cuisine that changes every evening

The strong point of the Festa tra il Verde is the themed menus that alternate night after night: spit-roast, eel, paella, and then grilled meats, gnocchi, calamari, side dishes, and homemade desserts. A varied and abundant gastronomic offering that invites you to return more than once during the ten days of the festival, to taste every specialty.

Dancing, music, and sports

The evenings are marked by music: dance orchestras for lovers of ballroom dancing and younger bands — including tribute bands and party bands — to engage all generations. The evening program is complemented by sporting events that traditionally accompany the festival, such as the Sunday fun run and the cycling tour, opportunities to discover the countryside around Frattina.

The heart of Pro Loco Frattina

Behind the event is the work of the Pro Loco Frattina (local tourism board), which with the support of the Municipality of Pravisdomini sets up kitchens, stands, and a stage for over a week of celebration. It is an example of how a small rural community can transform summer into a great moment of gathering, capable of attracting visitors from all over the area between Friuli and Veneto.
