Saint Louis, patron saint of Limosano
Saint Louis is the patron saint of Limosano, a municipality in the province of Campobasso located about 14 km northwest of the provincial capital, in the Biferno valley. The village, divided between the historic centre built on a tuff hill and the new part at the foot of the ducal palace, celebrates its patron saint every year on August 19th.
A festival in the heart of summer
The feast day is the highlight of the Limosanese summer and is part of a rich calendar of August events that also includes the Sagra del Fegatello (August 14th) and the feast of San Donato. The religious celebrations, with the procession of the statue of Saint Louis through the village streets, are accompanied by civil festivities, with moments of music and socialising that also attract Limosano natives who have emigrated.
