The Festa di Sant'Anna is the patronal festival of Zoppè di Cadore, a small village in the province of Belluno nestled at the foot of Monte Pelmo. Saint Anne, mother of the Virgin, is the protector of the village, and her feast day, July 26th, is the most cherished event of the year for the community.
The day combines the religious dimension with conviviality. In the morning, the solemn mass is celebrated; in the afternoon, at 3:00 PM, the Patriarchal Vespers are held in the Church of Sant'Anna, accompanied by the historic organ from 1746, considered the oldest in Cadore. The tradition of pilgrimages from nearby villages and hamlets, such as Bragarezza and the settlements of the Baliato di Coi and Col, who ascend to Zoppè to honor the saint, also survives.
In the evening, the festival continues in a more popular form with the food stand, where fries and sandwiches are served, and musical accompaniment from 8:30 PM. An event that tells the soul of a small alpine community, between faith, music, and conviviality.
