Evenings of ancient traditions in Sottoguda, at the foot of the Marmolada
In Sottoguda, a small and precious hamlet of the municipality of Rocca Pietore (province of Belluno), every summer Thursday evening, Na Sera da Zacan takes place, a Ladin expression meaning "an evening of yesteryear". It is one of the most beloved events in the Agordino area: for a few hours, the village, famous for the suggestive Serrai that connect it to Malga Ciapela, transforms into an open-air museum of Dolomite traditions.
Along the village streets, you can admire live demonstrations of ancient mountain crafts: the blacksmith forging iron, the sculptor shaping wood, wool processing, and the making of hemp ropes, up to the creation of "Scarpet", the typical artisanal footwear of the Dolomites. It is the living memory of a Ladin-speaking community that has preserved its knowledge.
Stalls offer typical local products, while folk music and traditional dances accompany the evening. The atmosphere of the village, nestled between the walls of the Marmolada, the "Queen of the Dolomites", makes the event a unique experience for those visiting this corner of the Veneto in summer.
The event is organized by the Marmolada Events Committee and is part of the rich summer calendar of events in Rocca Pietore and the Agordino Dolomite area.
The established format of Na Sera da Zacan returns for the entire summer of 2026: the Thursday evenings transform Sottoguda into a village of yesteryear. The precise dates for each Thursday and the complete schedule will be published by the Marmolada Events Committee closer to the summer.
Typical evening program (awaiting the official 2026 schedule):
The dates for the individual Thursdays in July and August 2026 will be confirmed on the website and social media channels of the Marmolada Events Committee.
