The Wellness Village
Cosio d'Arroscia, in the upper Valle Arroscia in the province of Imperia, is known as the 'Borgo del Benessere' (Wellness Village) for its connection to medicinal herbs and the unspoiled nature surrounding it. The Festa delle Erbe e della Lavanda (Festival of Herbs and Lavender), held on the third Sunday of July, celebrates this heritage of scents and knowledge, reaching its XI edition in 2026.
An itinerary of taste and scents
The heart of the festival is a gastronomic itinerary that showcases the region's aromatic herbs: herb ravioli, turles (typical filled dumplings), and the original lavender catarinette, a fragrant dessert that is the symbol of the event. Along the village streets, a market of local products unfolds, while travelling folk music accompanies visitors from one stop to the next.
Ancient traditions and knowledge
The festival also features demonstrations of ancient crafts, such as stone carving and lavender processing, and highlights the 'In Herbis Salus' Ethnobotanical Museum, dedicated to medicinal plants and their uses. As part of the Autentici Liguri events, the Festa delle Erbe e della Lavanda is a unique sensory experience to discover the mountain identity of the Imperia hinterland, amidst nature, wellness, and tradition.

The 2026 edition, the eleventh, takes place on Sunday, July 19th, the third Sunday of the month as tradition dictates. The Wellness Village opens its streets to a journey of flavors and scents, with the 'In Herbis Salus' Ethnobotanical Museum serving as the cultural focal point of the event.

How to get there
Cosio d'Arroscia is located in the upper Arroscia Valley, in the mountainous hinterland of Imperia. By car, you can reach it by driving up the valley from Pieve di Teco. It is not served by a train station.
Information
Free admission; the gastronomic itinerary and tastings are paid. Comfortable clothing is recommended for walking through the village alleys. The program is distributed by the organizers in the days preceding the event.
