The Festa della Musica in Jesi

Every year, around the summer solstice, the Festa della Musica transforms Italian cities into a large, widespread, and free stage. In Jesi, in the heart of the Vallesina in the Province of Ancona, the Municipality joins this national network with a program of concerts distributed in various locations throughout the city, from the squares of the historic center to the city gardens and parks. The event is part of the rich Jesi Estate 2026 program and embraces different genres and ensembles, from emerging bands to choirs, up to the city's musical band.

A widespread music event

The Festa della Musica was born in France in 1982 and has spread throughout Europe to become a global event: in Italy, it is promoted by the Ministry of Culture and the Italian Association for the Festa della Musica, with choir coordination curated by Feniarco. The spirit is that of free musical expression, outdoors and with free admission, where amateurs and professionals play side by side. The 2026 national edition is the 32nd and has the theme The voice of places, with particular attention to choral singing.

Three evenings in the city's locations

In Jesi, the Festa is divided into three evening events, each in a different city space. It opens on Friday, June 19th, in Piazza delle Monachette with the region's emerging bands, continues on Saturday, June 20th, in the Public Gardens with the Concert for Peace in collaboration with Amnesty International Jesi, and concludes on Sunday, June 21st, in Parco del Ventaglio with a concert by the Banda Musicale di Jesi. A format that takes music out of concert halls and returns it to the city, its neighborhoods, and an audience of all ages.

Homeland of Giovan Battista Pergolesi and Gaspare Spontini, Jesi boasts a deep musical tradition, preserved by the historic Teatro Pergolesi and the Pergolesi Spontini Foundation. The Festa della Musica fits into this context by promoting local musical realities, from bands to choirs, and offering emerging groups an open-air stage in the city center.
