Solar Light Festival

A psychedelic ritual in the Marche hills

The Solar Light Festival is now a regular fixture for psytrance and Goa music enthusiasts from all over Italy. It is held in Montecarotto, a small village in the province of Ancona, in the heart of the Marche region, at the Agriturismo Piagge del Sole, in Contrada Costa. More than just a festival, it is a gathering that celebrates the summer solstice: three days of music, art, nature, and sharing that symbolically mark the beginning of the summer season.

The cradle of Italian psytrance

The location is not chosen by chance: according to the organizers themselves, these hills have hosted events related to psychedelic culture for over thirty years, becoming a sort of sanctuary for the trance scene in Central Italy. It is here that generations of enthusiasts have gathered to dance under the starry sky, far from the logic of large commercial events. Solar Light gathers and carries on this legacy, maintaining a community and artisanal spirit.

Music, art, and community

The music program revolves around the various facets of psytrance, from full-on to more progressive and ambient sounds, with Italian and international DJs and live acts alternating on the main stage for the entire duration of the event. Alongside the music, the festival offers art installations, light decorations, craft and natural product markets, relaxation areas, and spaces dedicated to well-being, in true Goa tradition.

An event for members

Solar Light is organized as an event reserved for members of the cultural association that promotes it (GoaProject): participation therefore requires membership, a formula typical of many underground Italian gatherings that protects its community and self-managed spirit. The 2026 edition falls on the solstice weekend, from June 19th to 21st, and promises to be the eighth edition of a now-established journey in the Marche festival scene.
