Solar Light Festival

A psychedelic ritual in the Marche hills

The Solar Light Festival has become a staple for psytrance and goa music enthusiasts from all over Italy. It takes place in Poggio San Marcello, a small village in the province of Ancona, in the heart of the Marche region, at the GoaProject association's grounds in Contrada Coste. More than just a festival, it is a gathering that celebrates the summer solstice: three days of music, art, nature, and community that symbolically mark the beginning of the summer season.

The cradle of Italian psytrance

The location was not chosen by chance: according to the organizers themselves, these hills have hosted events linked to psychedelic culture for over thirty years, becoming a sanctuary for the trance scene in Central Italy. It is here that generations of fans have gathered to dance under the starry sky, far from the logic of large commercial events. The Solar Light carries on this legacy, maintaining a communal and artisanal spirit.

Music, art, and community

The musical program revolves around various shades of psytrance, from full-on to more progressive and ambient sounds, with Italian and international DJs and live acts taking turns on the main stage throughout the event. Alongside the music, the festival offers art installations, light decorations, craft and natural product markets, relaxation areas, and spaces dedicated to well-being, in true goa tradition.

A members-only event

The Solar Light is organized as an event reserved for members of the cultural association that promotes it (GoaProject): participation requires membership, a typical format for many gatherings in the Italian underground scene that protects its communal and self-managed spirit. The 2026 edition falls on the solstice weekend, from June 19th to 21st, and promises to be the eighth edition of a well-established journey in the Marche festival landscape.
