In the medieval village of Collemancio, open wineries among the alleys, local wines and tradition
The Festa del Vino di Collemancio is one of Umbria's longest-running wine events. It takes place in the charming medieval village of Collemancio, a hamlet of the Municipality of Cannara, in the province of Perugia, where the alleys of the historic center come alive with set-up wineries and tasting booths. Organized by the Amici di Collemancio Association with the help of numerous volunteers, the festival combines a love for wine with the charm of an ancient hilltop village.
The stars of the festival are the wines from this corner of Umbria, a land with a rich winemaking tradition: from Montefalco Rosso to the prized Sagrantino DOCG, expressions of a territory that makes wine one of its excellences. The wineries, set up in the alleys and houses of the village, welcome visitors for tastings accompanied by local gastronomic specialties.
In addition to tastings, the event features live music every evening, spontaneous painting sessions, and the traditional horse ride along the scenic hillside paths. A formula that blends food and wine, art, and folklore, and which for over fifty years has renewed the Collemancio community's bond with its rural and wine identity.
The 2026 edition of the Festa del Vino di Collemancio takes place from July 17 to 20 in the medieval village, a hamlet of Cannara. Four days of open wineries in the alleys, tastings of local wines, live music, and traditional events, with the horse ride on Sunday morning along the scenic hillside paths.
