Festa del Mojito

A summer festival in the heart of Abbadia

The Festa del Mojito is now a regular fixture of the Osimo summer. It is held in the hamlet of Abbadia, at the sports field, and is organized by the Circolo Culturale Abbadia, the association that enlivens the neighbourhood's life. The event was created to carry on the legacy of the historic sagra del pesce fritto (fried fish festival), reinventing the village festival formula around a younger, more contemporary identity: the famous Cuban cocktail made with rum, lime, mint, and sugar.

What to expect

For three consecutive evenings, the sports field transforms into a large outdoor space with a cocktail bar, food stalls, and a stage for live music. In addition to the mojito, the true star of the festival, there are dishes designed to accompany the evenings, and in recent editions, also craft beer. Each evening, a different menu accompanies the concerts, in an informal atmosphere suitable for all ages.

Music and inclusion

The musical program is the heart of the festival: each evening features bands and DJs ranging from rock to pop music, and even the fun, boisterous performances of cover bands. In recent years, the event has also opened its doors to social inclusion projects, hosting Birracca, the craft brewery from Macerata run by young adults with autism diagnoses, who manage the beer taps and engage the public with prize games.

Where and when

The Festa del Mojito takes place at the end of July in the Municipality of Osimo, in the Province of Ancona, in the Marche region. It is one of the events in the rich calendar of Osimo festivals that liven up the hamlets throughout the summer, alongside the Festa della Grigliata (Grill Festival) and the Festa del Covo (Sheaf Festival). Admission is free, and the atmosphere is typical of Marche village festivals.
