"Almost open-air" cinema for children and families under the canopy of Campo Boario in Jesi
CineBoario is the summer open-air cinema festival dedicated to children and families that takes place in Jesi, in the province of Ancona, in Marche. Defined as "almost open-air cinema" because it is held under the canopy of Campo Boario, in the San Giuseppe district, the event offers several evenings of free screenings of animated films, accompanied by readings for the little ones and play sessions. The festival is promoted by the Associazione Jesi Bassa with the support of the Children's Section of the Planettiana Library, the Municipality of Jesi, the San Giuseppe Neighborhood Committee, and numerous local associations.
CineBoario stands out for its participatory nature: it is not born from sponsorships of large companies but from crowdfunding and the voluntary commitment of citizens and associations. The films on the program are chosen by the children and young people who attend the Children's Library, in a process that puts young viewers and their point of view at the center. The canopy of Campo Boario is set up with a screen, chairs and benches, information stands of participating associations, and a bar area, creating a welcoming and family-friendly space.
Each evening follows a tested format that combines different moments designed for various ages:
Admission to all evenings is completely free and open to everyone, in line with the inclusive and community spirit of the initiative.
Campo Boario is a historic space in the San Giuseppe district of Jesi, recovered and returned to the community as a gathering place. CineBoario represents one of the events that animate this area during the summer, helping to strengthen the sense of community and offer families an opportunity for cultural entertainment just a stone's throw from home. The festival is part of the broader Jesi Estate program, which offers events throughout most of the summer season in the Municipality.
CineBoario is ideal for families with children, but also for anyone who wants to rediscover the pleasure of open-air cinema in a simple and convivial setting. It is an event that combines culture, play, and social interaction, perfect for spending light and engaging summer evenings in the heart of Jesi.
