Three days on the Custonaci coast featuring local cuisine, music, and maritime culture at Baia di Cornino
The Festa dei Mari is a summer festival held at Baia di Cornino, a picturesque seaside hamlet in the municipality of Custonaci, in the province of Trapani, Western Sicily. Established in 2024, the festival has quickly become one of the most anticipated events on the Trapani coast, blending identity, cuisine, culture, music, and entertainment in a unique setting overlooking the Mediterranean.
At the heart of the event is the Cooking Talk, an original format where chefs, guests, and experts discuss local seafood: the preparation of dishes becomes an experience that weaves together taste, memory, and local storytelling. Alongside the live cooking shows, there are tastings of seafood specialties and products under the 'Tesori dei Mari' brand, including craft beer, gin, and amaro inspired by the sea.
The Festa dei Mari is not just about gastronomy: the program includes thematic talks on fishing, sustainability, environmental protection, and the blue economy, as well as moments of reflection on the identity of seaside villages and outdoor wellness activities. The evenings come alive with live music, cabaret shows, variety acts, and DJ sets that continue until late at night in a festive and family-friendly atmosphere.
At the conclusion of the event, the Festa dei Mari Award is presented, a recognition dedicated to individuals, associations, and organizations that distinguish themselves in promoting maritime culture, fishing traditions, environmental protection, and the cultural development of the community.
Baia di Cornino is recognized by Legambiente and the Italian Touring Club as part of the Il Mare piรน bello (The Most Beautiful Sea) initiative, confirming the deep bond between the event and the maritime identity of Custonaci. The artistic direction is entrusted to Vanessa Galipoli, while the concept was created by entrepreneurs Paolo Piazza and Alberto Santoro. The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Custonaci and the Sicilian Region and offers free admission.
The fourth edition of the Festa dei Mari is scheduled from July 3rd to 5th, 2026, at Baia di Cornino, in Custonaci (TP). Compared to 2025, the duration is concentrated into three intense days dedicated to the sea, taste, music, and entertainment.
The pillars of the event are confirmed: the Cooking Talk with chefs and experts focusing on local seafood, tastings of typical products, talks on fishing, sustainability, and the blue economy, evening shows with live music, cabaret, variety acts, and DJ sets, as well as the presentation of the Festa dei Mari Award. The artistic direction is led by Vanessa Galipoli.
The complete program, including the list of guests and artists, will be published on the official channels and on the website festadeimari.it. Admission is free.
The Festa dei Mari takes place at Baia di Cornino, along the coast of Custonaci (TP). By car, it can be reached via the A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo motorway, taking the Castellammare del Golfo exit and continuing towards Custonaci and Cornino. The nearest airport is Trapani-Birgi (Vincenzo Florio), approximately 40 km away.
Admission to the event is free. Activities are concentrated in the evening hours, from late afternoon until night. The detailed program is published on the official Festa dei Mari channels.
We recommend combining your visit with a day at the beach in Baia di Cornino and exploring the Zingaro Nature Reserve and the village of Custonaci, famous for its marble and the Living Nativity scene in the Grotta Mangiapane.
