A traditional fair in the heart of Favara's summer

The Ferragosto Agriculture and Crafts Fair is one of the most deep-rooted commercial events in Favara, a town in the province of Agrigento, Sicily. Every year, on August 15th, the long stretch of Via Agrigento transforms into a vast open-air market where farmers, artisans, and street vendors set up their stalls.

Agriculture, crafts, and local products

The fair was established to promote the produce of the Favara region, historically tied to the cultivation of vines, almonds, and olives, as well as local craftsmanship. Among the stalls, you will find agricultural goods, handmade items, equipment, and various merchandise, all curated for families and curious visitors enjoying the public holiday. In some years, the event has been enriched by a livestock exhibition, featuring farm animals that highlight the town's agricultural and rural roots.

Schedule and logistics

The fair takes place on the morning of Ferragosto, traditionally from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, along Via Agrigento. Vendor participation is managed via applications submitted to the Favara Municipal SUAP office through the "impresainungiorno" portal, subject to availability. Admission for visitors is free.

The Department of Productive Activities of the Municipality of Favara has frequently highlighted how the fair represents a traditional appointment dear to its citizens, serving as an important economic opportunity for street vendors. The event also attracts residents from neighboring towns, cementing its status as a staple of Favara's summer calendar alongside the subsequent October Fair.
