About Fermento

At the end of June, Tarquinia Lido transforms into a gourmet village for Fermento, a widespread craft beer festival celebrating the finest brewing production from Lazio and the Tuscia region. Forget enclosed areas or traditional fairgrounds: here, you stroll along the seafront, moving between beach clubs and bars to discover sixteen different breweries, accompanied by street food, live concerts, and seaside DJ sets. Launched in 2018, it has become a highly anticipated highlight of the Tarquinia summer.

A festival spread along the seaside

Fermento is not your typical festival: there are no fences and no enclosed fairground. The event is designed as a widespread festival, meant to be experienced by strolling along the Tarquinia Lido seafront, among beach clubs, bars, and the streets of this coastal town. For two evenings, the entire Lido becomes the beating heart of regional brewing excellence, set against a unique backdrop of sea, flavors, and conviviality.

Sixteen breweries from Lazio and Tuscia

The core of the event is the tasting experience: eight stations, each featuring two craft breweries, showcase the best of Lazio and Tuscia production, with the brewers themselves on hand to tell their stories. The 2025 edition featured established names such as Aut Aut Brewing, Birra Oxiana, Due Fusti, Jungle Juice Brewing, Linfa, Eastside, Free Lions, Hilltop Brewery, Itineris, Officina del Baccano, Radiocraft, Ritual Lab, Terre di Faul, Turna, Torre in Pietra Birrificio, and Vento Forte. The stations are located next to the Bonita, Riva Blu, Las Vegas, Tamurรจ, Marinai, Il Tirreno, and Tibidabo beach clubs, as well as the Corsaro bar.

The concept: a tasting journey

Visitors purchase a tasting pass and freely build their own gourmet itinerary: walk from one station to the next, sample beers, chat with the master brewers, and move on. Ticket booths are located at the entrances to the route, on the Lungomare dei Tirreni and Viale delle Sirene, and stations open in the evening, when the sunset over the Tyrrhenian Sea provides the perfect frame for your glass.

Music, DJ sets, and street food

Fermento is all about hops and malt, but also great music: live concerts and DJ sets accompany the tastings along the entire route, while the beach clubs offer street food specifically curated to pair with the beers and highlight local gastronomy. The result is a contemporary, informal, and friendly village feast, just steps from the sea.

A story that began in 2018

The first edition of Fermento dates back to the summer of 2018, when the newly born festival brought thirteen breweries, three stages, and ten concerts to the Tarquinia seafront. Over the years, the event has grown and evolved: in 2023, it took place over four evenings in early August, featuring guests of the caliber of Birrificio Baladin, while since 2025 it has adopted the current widespread format at the end of June, promoted by the Italian Beach Operators Union (SIB) and Assocamping, in collaboration with the Municipality of Tarquinia and the Pro Loco Tarquinia. The Lido event is also complemented by BirriAmo, the sister craft beer festival hosted in the historic center.

Tarquinia: between the sea and the Etruscans

Fermento is also an opportunity to discover Tarquinia, a jewel of the Tuscia region in the province of Viterbo, in northern Lazio. Just a few kilometers from the Lido, you will find the Etruscan necropolis of Monterozzi, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its painted tombs, and the medieval historic center with its National Archaeological Museum. Combining an evening of craft beer by the sea with a day exploring Etruscan wonders is the best way to experience this corner of the Lazio coast.

Fermento โ€” edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Fermento has not yet been officially announced. Following the success of the 2025 edition, which brought sixteen craft breweries to the Tarquinia Lido seafront at the end of June, the organizers have not yet communicated the dates for the next event. This page will be updated as soon as the Municipality of Tarquinia and the Pro Loco publish the official program.

While awaiting the official announcement of the 2026 edition, Fermento remains one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Tarquinia Lido: a widespread festival that transforms the seafront into a tasting route featuring the best craft beers from Lazio and the Tuscia region, complete with street food, live music, and DJ sets. In past editions, the event has taken place between late June and early August, with stations hosted by the Lido's beach clubs. For confirmation of dates and program, we recommend following the channels of the Pro Loco Tarquinia and the Municipality of Tarquinia.
