The patronal feast of the Capoluogo hamlet of Charvensod, on July 20th
The Feast of Saint Margaret is the patronal feast of the Capoluogo hamlet (the chef-lieu) of Charvensod, a small municipality in the Province of Aosta that stretches across the sunny slopes south of the regional capital. It is traditionally held on July 20th, the day dedicated to Saint Margaret.
Like many Aosta Valley patronal feasts, it is an event that combines the religious dimension — the mass in honor of the saint — with the community aspect, featuring a gathering of inhabitants, moments of conviviality, and entertainment organized by the Pro Loco of Charvensod. The association, established in 2000 on the initiative of the municipal administration, manages the main events of the village and is always open to those who wish to lend a hand.
Charvensod preserves its hamlet festivals: in addition to the one in Capoluogo for Saint Margaret, the municipality also celebrates Saint Anne in Félinaz at the end of July. These are occasions when the village comes together around its roots, in an alpine setting just a few minutes from the center of Aosta and the cable car leading to Pila.
The Feast of Saint Margaret in Capoluogo di Charvensod is expected, as per tradition, around July 20th, 2026. The Pro Loco of Charvensod remains active in 2026 and continues to organize the village's events. At the time of writing this sheet, the detailed program for the 2026 edition has not yet been published: normally, it is released in the days preceding the feast through the Municipality's website and the association's social media channels.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition has not yet been published. The feast follows the traditional structure of Aosta Valley patronal feasts, with a religious celebration in honor of Saint Margaret and entertainment and conviviality moments curated by the Pro Loco. Updates are published on the channels of the Municipality of Charvensod and on the Pro Loco's Facebook page.
Charvensod is located immediately south of Aosta, on the right bank of the Dora Baltea river, reachable in a few minutes by car from the city center. The Capoluogo hamlet is the historic core of the municipality.
The detailed program is communicated by the Pro Loco of Charvensod in the days preceding the feast, through the Municipality's channels and the association's Facebook page.
