An autumn festival in the mountains

The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is one of the most cherished events in Cavargna, a small mountain municipality in Val Cavargna, in the far north of the Province of Como, in a territory nestled between Lake Como and the Swiss border. The festival is celebrated on the first Sunday of October and ideally marks the closing of the summer event season, bringing the community together in a moment of devotion and conviviality.

Mass and procession

The day begins in the morning with the Holy Mass in the parish church. In the afternoon, the procession takes place through the village streets with the statue of the Madonna, followed by a blessing in the church. The Santa Cecilia Musical Band accompanies the procession, marking one of the most solemn and participatory moments of the year for Cavargna with its music.

Auctions, charity raffles, and entertainment

Alongside the religious dimension, the festival offers the most convivial moments typical of village celebrations: basket auctions, charity raffles, and various entertainment liven up the afternoon, in an atmosphere of joy and solidarity. These are opportunities that strengthen community bonds and make the festival an anticipated event for all generations.
