International Women's Day at the Savoy residence of Agliè, featuring art, theatre, and free admission
Every year on March 8th, the Ducal Castle of Agliè opens its doors to celebrate International Women's Day. Located in the heart of the Canavese area, in the municipality of Agliè in the Province of Turin, this monumental complex is one of the most fascinating Savoy residences in Piedmont and part of the UNESCO World Heritage circuit of Royal Residences. For the occasion, all women receive free admission and can visit the state rooms, the exquisite Italian-style gardens, and the historic park.
The highlight of the day is the theatrical performance Fate le brave, curated and performed by Claudia Vigneti—an artist, psychologist, and therapist. Within the intimate setting of the Sala Nuova, the show weaves together art and psychology to reflect on female awareness and the necessity for every woman to reclaim her dreams and her own life. It is an intimate and engaging moment, designed to guide the audience through a journey of reflection and emotion.
The initiative also has a charitable dimension: admission to the show is free, based on a voluntary donation, and part of the proceeds will be donated to the LILT (Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer) delegation of Brandizzo to support cancer prevention activities.
Visiting the Castle of Agliè on Women's Day is also a perfect opportunity to explore an extraordinary site: the rooms of the Royal Apartment, expanded at the end of the 18th century, the art collections, the stables, and the terraced gardens that slope down toward the park. An experience that combines culture, history, and social commitment, in the spirit of a day dedicated to women and the entire Canavese community.
