Three days of salsa, bachata, and reggaeton in the capital's EUR district
Eventopeople Rome is one of the most anticipated winter events on the Italian Latin dance scene. The congress takes place in the Municipality of Rome, the capital of the Metropolitan City and the Lazio Region, within the EUR district. Two interconnected hotels, the Hotel Cristoforo Colombo and the Hotel Shangri-La, host the dance floors, workshop rooms, and participant accommodations, allowing for easy access on foot.
The event follows a residential congress format: tickets are not just entry passes but packages that include accommodation, breakfast, and access to all activities. This makes the event ideal for those traveling from other regions or abroad who want to spend three days fully dedicated to dance without missing out on a stroll through the capital's historic center.
The program revolves around three major families of Caribbean and urban rhythms. Bachata, in its sensual and modern forms, takes up a significant portion of the workshop schedule; salsa, both Cuban and Puerto Rican styles, attracts more traditional dancers; while reggaeton and Latin urban dances round out the program with more choreographic lessons. Classes are organized by level, from absolute beginners to advanced dancers, ensuring a gradual learning path for everyone.
The lineup is international and changes every year. Announced names for the 2026 edition include renowned bachata couples such as Daniel y Desirée, Melvin y Gatica, Janis y Zoe, Kike y Nahir, David & Inés, and Klau y Ros, while the salsa side features masters like Maykel Fonts, Johnny Vázquez, Fernando Sosa, Roly Maden, Wilmer y María, and Antonio y Jasmina. Lessons are complemented by urban and reggaeton artists such as Jensen, Mickey Then, and Dama.
While the day is dedicated to learning, the night is for social dancing. Each evening features a themed party with dedicated parquet floors, international DJ sets, and at least one live music performance. These concerts are a hallmark of the event, bringing Latin bands to the stage to keep the dance floor alive until late. Friday and Saturday nights are reserved for congress participants, though some ticket options allow access to the parties only.
Designed in the 1930s and completed after the war, EUR is one of Rome's most recognizable districts, known for its grand straight axes, the lake, and the rationalist architecture of the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana. Via Cristoforo Colombo, which runs through it, connects the district to the historic center on one side and the Ostia coastline on the other—a convenient location that explains the organizers' choice of venue. The event is promoted by Eventopeople srl, a company that organizes Latin dance congresses in various Italian cities.
From January 9th to 11th, 2026, Rome's EUR district hosted the new edition of the congress. The two interconnected hotels, Hotel Cristoforo Colombo and Hotel Shangri-La, allowed for workshops, dance halls, and participant accommodation to be concentrated within a few meters.
The program alternated three days of lessons with three dance evenings, including two live music performances. Friday and Saturday parties were reserved for congress participants, while some ticket options allowed access to the parties only. Pre-sales, open with early bird rates until October 30th, offered Gold and Silver packages including accommodation and breakfast.
