The major European Gymnastics for All festival arrives in Pistoia
Eurogym 2026 is the most important European festival dedicated to Gymnastics for All (Gym for Life), a major non-competitive event reserved for young gymnasts aged between 12 and 18. Organized by European Gymnastics and hosted every two years by a different European city, the 2026 festival lands for the first time in Pistoia, in the heart of Tuscany, after the Pistoia municipal bid outperformed the Estonian proposal. This marks the fifteenth edition of a tradition that has been running since 1996.
From July 8 to 17, 2026, the city will transform into a vast, open-air stage. Eurogym features no competitions or rankings: the goal is sharing, friendship between nations, and the joy of movement. Group performances will take place in the historic squares in the afternoon, while in the mornings, participants can try out various sports disciplines offered across the area. Approximately 5,000 athletes are expected, accompanied by coaches and families, totaling over 10,000 people from more than twenty-five European nations.
Concurrently with Eurogym, Pistoia will host the 5th European Gym for Life Challenge (EGFLC), a challenge that rewards choreography, synchronization, and team creativity. The competitions will be concentrated at the PalaCarrara: on July 9 and 10, small groups will take the stage with over 1,500 young athletes, while July 11 is dedicated to large groups, with more than 2,500 gymnasts engaged in choral performances of great visual impact.
For the Municipality of Pistoia and the entire Tuscany Region, Eurogym 2026 represents an international showcase of extraordinary value. The event, supported by the Italian Gymnastics Federation and the Local Organizing Committee led by Alessandra Mazzatosta, brings significant tourism and economic impact to the city while highlighting the squares, monuments, and hospitality of one of Tuscany's most fascinating art cities. For ten days, Pistoia will breathe the energy, colors, and enthusiasm of thousands of young Europeans who use sport as a universal language.
The event opens on July 8 and continues until July 17, 2026. The central days alternate group performances in the historic squares of Pistoia with the European Gym for Life Challenge competitions at the PalaCarrara.
July 9-10: European Gym for Life Challenge โ small groups (PalaCarrara). July 11: EGFLC โ large groups (PalaCarrara). July 12: opening ceremony at Stadio Marcello Melani. Central days: European group performances in the historic center squares. July 16: gala and closing ceremony in Piazza del Duomo.

Indicative prices: โฌ20 for individual sessions and ceremonies, โฌ35 for the large group daily pass.
