The floral art, fashion, and creativity competition-show in Aprilia
Estrosa Floral Show is the summer event that blends floral art, fashion, and entertainment in the center of Aprilia, in the province of Latina, Lazio. Born from an idea by floral designer Savina Tatti, president of the Serendipity floral training school, the event has grown with each edition to become one of the most original and anticipated highlights of the Aprilia calendar, transforming shop windows, squares, and streets into a creative open-air path.
The heart of Estrosa is a true floral art competition: teams of two florists each face various challenges set up in the windows of local shops. Contestants create hand-tied bouquets of natural flowers, design window displays, and bring to life the famous vegetable dressesโgarments crafted entirely from flowers and plant materials. Each challenge awards a prize, and a panel of experts determines the overall winners.
The most evocative moment is the gala evening in Piazza Roma, when the floral dresses come to life as models walk the runway. Music, dance, acting, and body art accompany a catwalk that changes its theme every year, surprising the audience. The event is built around a different central theme for each edition, inspiring the contestants' creations and the city's overall scenery.
Estrosa is now an integral part of the summer in the Municipality of Aprilia and enhances the local commercial fabric through collaboration between florists, local businesses, and cultural entities. For this Pontine city, it is a festive occasion and a promotional tool, where floral art becomes a shared language and a means of community building. Those visiting Lazio in summer will find an unusual and photogenic event here, where the talent of master florists intertwines with fashion and live performance.
The 2026 edition of Estrosa Floral Show, the eighth for the Aprilia event, chose "Samarkand" as its themeโan imaginary journey from West to East evoked through colors and charm. The festival was held in collaboration with Cuore Comico and the city's commercial and cultural entities.
Wednesday, July 15 was dedicated to the floral art competition: teams of florists competed in challenges set up in the windows of local shops. Thursday, July 16, the event moved into the heart of fashion, with the creation of floral dresses and the grand finale of the fashion show at 9:00 PM in Piazza Roma.
The evening also featured music with a DJ set by Gabro, body art by Sonia Ricci, choreography, and guests on stage, for a celebration that brought the center of Aprilia to life.
Aprilia is located in the province of Latina, in lower Lazio. By car, it is easily accessible via the Via Pontina (SS148) and the A1 motorway (exits towards the Pontina). By train, the Aprilia station is on the Rome-Nettuno line, with frequent connections from Roma Termini.
The events take place in the city center, among shop windows and streets; the final evening and the fashion show are held in Piazza Roma, in public spaces with free access.
The evening fashion show is very popular: it is advisable to arrive early to find a spot in the square. The two days are best experienced by strolling through the shop windows to follow the competition challenges.
