The Christmas village of the Castelli Romani, featuring lights, markets, and street performers
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
During the Advent season, the center of Ciampino, a city in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital in the Lazio region, hosts Christmas in Ciampino, a true Christmas village with free admission. For the occasion, Piazza della Pace and Via IV Novembre are completely pedestrianized and transformed into a space filled with sparkling lights, festive scents, and colors, animated by markets, shows, and live music.
Along the streets of the center, artisan stalls offer gift ideas, local products, and handmade items, while the street food areas serve Christmas sweets, beers, and seasonal specialties. It is a perfect opportunity to combine holiday shopping with discovering the flavors of the Castelli Romani, in a festive atmosphere that brings together residents and visitors from neighboring towns and Rome.
The heart of the event is the roving entertainment: stilt walkers, street performers, artistic and luminous parades, magic shows, aerial performances, giant soap bubbles, juggling, and cabaret for children take place throughout the day. There are also more evocative moments, such as the gospel choir and the Christmas tree lighting, which draw crowds to the square as evening falls.
For the little ones, the village features Santa's House, where children can meet Santa Claus and deliver their letters. Along with workshops and playful activities, it is one of the most anticipated appointments for families, who find an event tailored specifically for them here.
Organized by the municipal administration, Christmas in Ciampino is part of the broader calendar of city festivities, which brings concerts, nativity scenes, workshops, and roving shows to the city between December and Epiphany. Located just a few kilometers from Rome and well-connected, Ciampino becomes a welcoming destination to experience the magic of Christmas in the Castelli Romani territory.
The 2026 edition of Christmas in Ciampino is expected in December, in line with the tradition of previous years that saw the Christmas village animate the city center during the Immaculate Conception long weekend. At the time of gathering information, the dates and the official program have not yet been announced.
In continuity with past editions, a free-admission village is expected with artisan markets, street food, roving performances, Santa's House, and the Christmas tree lighting. The final program will be communicated by the municipal administration in the weeks preceding the event.
