About Estate Pescolana

From July to August, Pescopennataro, a village of stone and fir trees in the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, presents Estate Pescolana: a rich program combining guided excursions, popular games, sport climbing, open-air theatre, dancing evenings, and live sculpting competitions. The heart of the season is the Scamorza and Lesca Cincialosa Festival, dedicated to the typical flavours of the Molisan mountains, including the famous 'schiaffune and pallotte'.

The summer of the fir village

When summer arrives, Pescopennataro, in the province of Isernia, enlivens the months of July and August with Estate Pescolana, a widespread calendar of events that celebrates one of the highest and most evocative villages in Molise, nestled within the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park and renowned for its fir trees and its ancient tradition of stone carving.

Scamorza and Lesca Cincialosa Festival

The most anticipated gastronomic event is the Scamorza and Lesca Cincialosa Festival, which brings the typical flavours of the Molisan mountains to the town square: scamorza, a cheese symbolising the local dairy tradition, and lesca cincialosa, alongside popular specialities like 'schiaffune and pallotte'. It's an opportunity to discover the rural cuisine of Alto Molise in a festive atmosphere.

A program for everyone

Alongside the festivals, Estate Pescolana offers a range of initiatives: guided excursions in the woods, popular games, sport climbing, a mixed relay race (ski-roll, mountain bike, and running), a live sculpting competition and an exhibition-market of stone craftsmanship, as well as dancing evenings, open-air theatre, and a seniors' day. A program that combines gastronomy, sport, nature, and culture, making Pescopennataro an ideal destination for a summer in the mountains.
