The Patagarri bring their gipsy jazz to the square in Satriano di Lucania
On August 17, 2026, Piazza Umberto I, the open-air living room of Satriano di Lucania, transforms into a stage for one of the most vibrant names in new Italian jazz: Patagarri. The Milanese band, which exploded in popularity in the last two years, offers contagious gipsy jazz, built on manouche guitars, brass, and percussion, seasoned with a good dose of irony and social commentary.
Their sound blends the tradition of Django Reinhardt-school manouche jazz with Mediterranean influences and a street-smart attitude. On stage, they become a true celebration: blaring brass, driving rhythms, and a stage presence that engages the audience from the first to the last song. The concert is part of the extensive "Tua Madre in Tour", the 2026 summer tour that takes the Patagarri to over thirty dates across Italy and Europe, from major festivals to village squares like Satriano's.
Hosting a concert of this type is no accident for Satriano di Lucania, a small municipality in the Province of Potenza known as the "village of murals": the facades of the historic center are decorated with dozens of paintings depicting peasant life, crafts, and Lucanian traditions. A perfect setting for an evening that combines live music, summer atmosphere, and village identity.
The event starts at 10:00 PM, when the mountain air makes the evenings pleasant: admission is free, just show up at the square. An opportunity to discover an authentic village in the Lucanian hinterland and, at the same time, one of the most surprising bands on the Italian live music scene.
The concert by Patagarri is scheduled for the evening of Monday, August 17, 2026, at 10:00 PM, in Piazza Umberto I in Satriano di Lucania. The date is part of the Milanese band's summer tour, which in 2026 covers over thirty locations across Italy and Europe.
On stage, the group performs its gipsy jazz repertoire, featuring songs from their debut album and new singles with Mediterranean influences, in a free open-air evening.
The concert is a single evening event. Any updates on timings and side activities will be announced by the Municipality of Satriano di Lucania in the weeks preceding the event.
How to get there: Satriano di Lucania can be reached from the Sicignano-Potenza junction, exit Brienza/Satriano, and is about 35 km from Potenza. The concert is held in Piazza Umberto I, in the town center.
Admission: free, open-air event.
Accommodation: farm stays and B&Bs are available in Satriano and in the nearby municipalities of Marmo Platano-Melandro.
