This relatively new event was created to celebrate one of the cold season's most iconic fruits: the chestnut, a staple of traditional Ciociaria peasant cuisine. Early editions have quickly won over both locals and visitors from neighboring towns, thanks to the genuine, family-friendly atmosphere that defines the most authentic festivals in Lazio.

The festival is promoted by the Pro Loco of Esperia in collaboration with the La Papera Trekking Association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Esperia. Its dual goal is to showcase local products and strengthen community ties through an evening in the town square, open to everyone and perfect for families. The chestnut, once a dietary cornerstone for mountain families, serves as a bridge to share the history and customs of a town that has carefully preserved its roots.
