The great community festival of Mezzolombardo in the heart of the Piana Rotaliana
End of Summer in Mezombart is much more than just a village fair: it is the grand popular festival with which Mezzolombardo, in the heart of the Piana Rotaliana, bids farewell to the summer. "Mezombart" is the local dialect name for the town, and the event carries all the pride of a community that gathers every late August in the streets and squares of the historic center. Established in 2001, the event has grown to become one of the most anticipated dates in the Autonomous Province of Trento and a reference point for the entire Piana Rotaliana and its neighboring valleys.
The gastronomic heart of the festival is entrusted to a dozen stalls, each managed by a different local association. Every year, over four hundred volunteers cook and serve traditional dishes: classic Trentino menus accompanied by the famous wines of the Piana Rotaliana, the land of Teroldego. There is no shortage of convivial offerings such as ribeye steaks and spit-roasted chicken, with options also available for those with specific dietary needs, including gluten-free and vegan choices. All proceeds support the activities of the town's associations.
After dinner, the historic center transforms into a large, widespread stage: live music, karaoke, and performances animate the town's main squares, such as Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza Cassa di Risparmio, until late at night. The town band traditionally opens the festivities, while concerts and activities for all ages accompany the three evenings of the festival.
End of Summer in Mezombart is a festival designed for families. In the afternoon, Corso del Popolo turns into a true "children's village," featuring creative workshops, baby dance, treasure hunts, and other traditional games. It is a way to engage new generations and pass on the sense of community that is the soul of the event.
Beyond the program, what makes this festival special is the work of the volunteers and the numerous associations of Mezzolombardo, who spend days preparing and enlivening the entire historic center. This is the true strength of End of Summer in Mezombart: a free, popular, and participatory event capable of showcasing the vitality of a territory and a community in Trentino-Alto Adige.
The 2026 edition of End of Summer in Mezombart will be held in Mezzolombardo from Friday, August 28th to Sunday, August 30th, confirming the beloved formula of the great community festival in the heart of the Piana Rotaliana. As per tradition, the historic center will host a dozen food stalls run by volunteers from local associations, offering traditional Trentino menus and local wines, along with live music in the evenings and a rich space dedicated to children in the afternoon.
The detailed program, including the names of the musical groups and the calendar of initiatives, will be published by the Pro Loco Mezzolombardo closer to the event.
