Cavaglietto's charity dance night celebrating Emergency's birthday
In the heart of the Lower Novara area, the small town of Cavaglietto (Province of Novara, Piedmont) hosts a special evening dedicated to the birthday of Emergency, the humanitarian organization founded by Gino Strada that provides free medical and surgical care to victims of war and poverty. The event, now in its third consecutive year, is held at the Circolo ACLI on Via Umberto I and is organized by the Novara Emergency volunteer group together with the Boogiesti Anonimi association of Novara.
The theme of the evening is the dance music of the golden age: featuring the Swingin'roll, a «rockambolesk Italian band» that brings back the swing and rock'n'roll of yesteryear, and DJ sets by the Boogiesti Anonimi, passionate connoisseurs of vintage dance. Between tracks, guests can dance, chat, and enjoy a rich aperitif in an informal and welcoming atmosphere designed for all ages.
In addition to the music, the evening offers the photo exhibition «War and Denied Rights», which recounts the daily work of Emergency and the plight of those living in conflict zones. For children aged 5 to 11, there is a workshop led by volunteers, focusing on themes of peace, equality, and rights. It is a way to involve families and pass on the value of solidarity to children.
The Cavaglietto party is one of the stops of the Emergency Days, three days of events spread across the Novara territory and the Upper Novara area. The initiatives involve various towns with workshops, meetings, book presentations, and social gatherings, all united by the goal of sharing Emergency's mission and raising funds to support its activities. The Cavaglietto stop is the most festive, centered on dancing and conviviality.
Admission includes a contribution that covers the aperitif: a portion of the proceeds is donated directly to Emergency. Attending means spending a pleasant evening while making a concrete contribution to a humanitarian project. An event that combines the pleasure of music and dance with civic engagement, which has become a long-awaited tradition for the town of Cavaglietto and the entire Province of Novara.
The 2026 edition, the third consecutive one, took place on Saturday, May 16, at the Circolo ACLI of Cavaglietto starting at 6:00 PM. The evening, part of the Novara Emergency Days, featured a rich aperitif, the photo exhibition «War and Denied Rights», and a workshop for children aged 5 to 11 curated by Emergency volunteers.
On the musical front, the protagonists were the Swingin'roll band and the DJ sets by the Boogiesti Anonimi of Novara, for an evening of dancing dedicated to swing and rock'n'roll. The organization was handled by the Emergency Novara volunteer group in collaboration with the Boogiesti Anonimi association.
