May 1st on the Karst, with an electronic twist

While Italy celebrates May 1st, a bright and relaxed alternative is born on the Trieste Karst: Electronic Picnic. The event takes place at Avalon Wellness Spa, in Borgo Grotta Gigante, a hamlet in the Municipality of Sgonico (province of Trieste), in a natural amphitheater of meadows and Karst stone just a stone's throw from the famous Grotta Gigante. Here, the workers' holiday becomes a day of music, good food, and outdoor creativity.

Picnic, music, and design market

The formula is simple and alluring: spread out on the lawn with a gourmet basket, listen to electronic music curated by local DJs and curators, and stroll through the stalls of the Design Market, which brings together over thirty local designers and artisans. To complete the day, a series of rotating creative workshops – from ceramics to crochet, including Karst wine tastings – designed to engage both adults and children.

A "Karst-chic" atmosphere

The suggested dress code is a manifesto in itself: "Karst-chic", comfortable shoes for dancing on the grass, and sunglasses. The event includes an early slot with a reserved picnic area by booking, and in the afternoon, public opening with free entry, welcoming those who simply want to enjoy the music and the landscape. It's the ideal opportunity to discover the Karst, its terroir, and its tradition of hospitality, in a contemporary and youthful version.
