The Efìmera Spring Tour: Etna Festival is the May Day highlight from the Efìmera Dance Room collective, a platform founded in Catania in 2021 to promote Sicilian artists and locations through electronic music. The event takes place in Maletto, a small town in the Metropolitan City of Catania in the heart of northeastern Sicily. It has chosen the Pizzo Filicia Suburban Park as its natural stage—a vast, equipped green area over 1,100 meters high, suspended between the Etna and Nebrodi Parks.

Music, mountains, and local promotion

The philosophy behind Efìmera is that of a traveling festival: bringing DJ sets and live performances to unusual, breathtaking landscapes, sharing their history, and connecting young Sicilians with their local territory. The Etna Festival is its most evocative expression: dancing in the open air, surrounded by woods and the silhouette of Europe's highest volcano, breathing the crisp air of the Etna mountains.

The day is designed as a contemporary take on a traditional village fair: beyond the music, the park hosts a food and drink area, a market featuring artisans and creatives, and various workshops and entertainment activities. The event has quickly established itself as one of the most popular electronic music gatherings in Sicily; its winter counterpart (the Efìmera Snow Tour, held in the same park) has attracted over 12,000 people from across the island, with the support of the Maletto municipal administration, which recognizes the initiative's value in fostering social inclusion and youth engagement.
