The electronic music festival on the snowy slopes of Mount Etna, in Maletto
The Efìmera Snow Tour: Etna Festival is one of the most original events on the Sicilian music scene. It is a traveling event that brings electronic music culture to the surprising natural settings of the Etna region, choosing the Pizzo Filicia Suburban Park in Contrada Spirini, on the western side of the volcano, as the backdrop for its winter edition. The park is located at an altitude of approximately 1,140 meters and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Mount Etna and the Nebrodi mountain range, nestled among trails, stairways, and vast green areas.
The event is organized by Efìmera Dance Room, a collective founded in Catania in 2021 by Simone Santagati and Luca Ruscifina. Over the years, the project has enlivened iconic locations in the Catania area such as Palazzo Platamone, Castello Ursino, Villa Bellini, the Norman Castle of Motta Sant'Anastasia, and the Castello della Regina Bianca in Paternò, building a proposal that combines quality music with the promotion of heritage. With the Snow Tour format, the collective has brought the party to high altitudes, on the snowy slopes of Mount Etna.
The day unfolds from morning until late afternoon, with a long sequence of artists taking turns at the console in a format similar to Boiler Room. Alongside the music, the park offers a picnic area with food stalls, trekking and walking activities, slacklining, markets, and live artistic performances. The spirit is to spend a Sunday in the open air, enjoying the natural beauty that Mount Etna offers, amidst clean air, good food, and great music.
The first winter edition, held on December 22, 2024, in Maletto, attracted over 12,000 people from all over Sicily, confirming the strong appeal of the format. The initiative is supported by the Municipal Administration of Maletto and the Regional Department, with the aim of promoting the Etna territory and emerging Sicilian artists.
The Municipality of Maletto is the highest village on the slopes of Mount Etna, in the province of Catania, in the Sicilian Region. Famous for its strawberries, the town preserves a natural viewpoint in Pizzo Filicia that protects the village and offers one of the most evocative panoramas of the volcano. A shuttle service from Catania makes the event accessible to those arriving from outside.
The Etna Festival returned on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the Pizzo Filicia Suburban Park in Maletto, opening at 10:00 AM. The day featured a long musical session with numerous artists who took turns at the console according to the usual Boiler Room-style format, including Simone Santagati, the soul of the Efìmera collective.
In addition to the music, participants enjoyed the picnic area with food stalls, walks and trekking on the park's trails, and outdoor activities, all immersed in the panorama of Mount Etna and the Nebrodi mountains. To facilitate access, a shuttle service from Catania was active. Standard tickets and the VIP Exclusive Backstage package were available.
