The Municipality of Casale Monferrato, an art city in the province of Alessandria and the historic capital of Monferrato, is one of the main venues for Echos. Places and Music, an international touring music festival that travels through the villages, castles, abbeys, and wineries of south-eastern Piedmont every year. The festival, organized by the Associazione Musicale Ondasonora APS under the artistic direction of pianist Sergio Marchegiani, offers a calendar that enhances both the musical heritage and the architectural and landscape beauty of the region.

In Casale Monferrato, concerts are held in some of the city's most beautiful spaces: the Church of San Domenico, the Accademia Filarmonica, the Cloister of Santa Croce at the museum complex, and local distilleries for the cycle dedicated to wine. Each venue is not just a backdrop, but an integral part of the experience: the acoustics of the churches, the elegance of the historic rooms, and the atmosphere of the cellars engage in a dialogue with the live music.

An international and touring festival

Echos is not tied to a single location: its touring nature takes it to numerous municipalities in the province of Alessandria, from Casale Monferrato to Acqui Terme, from Novi Ligure to Valenza, with dozens of concerts spread throughout the spring. In nearly thirty years of activity, the festival has presented over 570 concerts in more than 120 locations across fifty municipalities, hosting performers from dozens of countries alongside young talents supported by dedicated scholarships. The programming ranges from chamber repertoire to solo performances, with characteristic cycles such as PianoEchos and Places of Wine.

Overlooking the Po River and famous for the Cathedral of Sant'Evasio, the synagogue, and the Baroque historic center, Casale Monferrato is the heart of a hilly territory recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its wine landscapes.
