Easter crafts, decorations, and local flavors in the Town Hall Square of Bruneck, at the foot of Plan de Corones
Every spring, in the days before Easter, the historic center of Bruneck (in German Bruneck), the main town of the Puster Valley and gateway to the Plan de Corones ski area, hosts the traditional Easter Market (in German Ostermarkt). The event takes place in the central Town Hall Square (Rathausplatz), just a stone's throw from the arcaded street, bringing a festive and colorful atmosphere to the town of Bruneck that heralds the arrival of the new season.
The market brings together numerous exhibitors, including artisans, hobbyists, and local producers, with a special focus on creativity and handmade work. Under the banner of "Creativity and Craftsmanship," the stalls offer a rich assortment of items and decorations:
Alongside the crafts, there is no shortage of homemade gastronomic delicacies and typical South Tyrolean products. Visitors can purchase bread and sweets, mountain cheeses, speck, and cured meats, as well as honey, jams, herbal teas, and aromatic herbs, on a culinary journey that tells the story of the farming tradition of the Puster Valley and South Tyrol. Some stalls are managed by local volunteer associations, such as the South Tyrolean Cancer Aid (Südtiroler Krebshilfe), offering handcrafted items for charity.
Open from morning to evening, with continuous hours from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the Bruneck Easter Market is a pleasant outing for both adults and children. The intimate setting of the Town Hall Square, framed by the colorful facades of the historic center and the surrounding mountains, makes a visit the perfect opportunity to soak up the South Tyrolean Easter atmosphere, find unique gifts, and enjoy a delicious break among the town's streets.
Located in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, in Trentino-South Tyrol, the Bruneck Easter Market is part of the spring calendar of the Plan de Corones area, amidst religious traditions, hiking, and the first sunny days at altitude. It is a chance to discover one of the most characteristic towns in South Tyrol, with its castle and arcades, and to experience Easter within the bilingual culture of South Tyrol.
In 2026, the Easter Market of Bruneck enlivened the Town Hall Square (Rathausplatz) from March 26 to 28, with continuous hours from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The stalls brought together numerous exhibitors, including artisans, hobbyists, and local producers, under the theme "Creativity and Craftsmanship."
Alongside Easter decorations and handmade creations — ceramics, glassware, wood carvings, jewelry, crochet and felt work — there was no shortage of homemade delicacies and typical South Tyrolean products: bread and sweets, cheeses, speck, honey, jams, and herbal teas. Admission was free.
The Town Hall Square (Rathausplatz) is located in the historic center of Bruneck. By train, Bruneck is served by the Puster Valley line (connections from Fortezza and San Candido). By car, take the A22 Brenner motorway, exit at Bressanone/Val Pusteria, and continue along the SS49; parking is available near the center.
The market is open with continuous hours from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Admission is free.
