About DocumentRari

DocumentRari is a documentary film festival organized by the La Morra Tourist Office, in the heart of the Langhe region in the province of Cuneo. Three evenings of free screenings at the Salone Polifunzionale offer a thoughtful look at the present: immigration, international cooperation, and local roots. Featuring auteur films, global voices, and ties to the Langa, it is designed for curious audiences who view documentaries as a tool for knowledge and dialogue.

DocumentRari: Documentary Cinema in La Morra

DocumentRari is a film festival dedicated to documentary cinema held in La Morra, a stunning hilltop village in the heart of the Langhe, in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. Promoted by the La Morra Tourist Office, the festival kicks off the town's cultural season with a program that blends artistic quality with social commitment: three evenings of screenings designed to inspire reflection and open windows onto the world, while remaining firmly rooted in the reality of the Langhe territory.

Three Evenings Between the World and the Langhe

The festival's common thread is its focus on the present. Each screening addresses one of the great themes of our time: immigration, international cooperation, and the relationship between communities and the land they inhabit. The evenings alternate between stories from afar and tales born right here in the hills of Cuneo, demonstrating how documentaries can bridge the global and the local with equal intensity.

Screenings are held in the Salone Polifunzionale of La Morra, a welcoming space in the town center that transforms into a shared cinema for a few nights. Admission is free, with the option to leave a voluntary donation: a formula that makes culture truly accessible to everyone.

Cinema That Tells the Story of the Territory

La Morra is one of the iconic towns of the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato wine landscape, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is no coincidence that the festival also focuses on the transformations of the local agricultural world, the communities working the land, and the new arrivals who have changed the face of the Cuneo countryside. DocumentRari thus becomes an opportunity to see the Langhe beyond the postcard images of wine and panoramas, exploring its human and social dimensions.

Why Attend

  • Auteur documentary cinema carefully selected around current themes
  • Free admission with voluntary donation, right in the center of La Morra
  • An opportunity to experience the Langhe from a cultural perspective, away from the most crowded tourist circuits
  • Evenings of reflection and dialogue on immigration, labor, and the territory

Promoted by the Municipality of La Morra, in Piedmont, DocumentRari confirms the town's vocation as not only a food and wine destination but also a place of living culture and debate on the issues of our time.
