About DingsDo

DingsDo Festival is the most original summer event in the Isarco Valley: two days of live music, circus performances, and vegetarian cuisine on the Sauweide meadow in Laion, South Tyrol. Established in 2011 and held biennially, it blends folk, reggae, and dub concerts with participatory art and a strong commitment to sustainability and local sourcing. Admission is by voluntary donation, with all proceeds supporting social, environmental, and community projects.

A festival blending music, nature, and solidarity

The DingsDo Festival is one of the most beloved and unique summer gatherings in South Tyrol. It takes place in the municipality of Laion/Lajen, in the Province of Bolzano, on the picturesque Sauweide meadow along the Wasserbühl-Weg, a scenic hill overlooking the Isarco Valley. Born in 2011 as a small folk village festival, it has quickly established itself as a benchmark for innovative musical events in South Tyrol, while maintaining its genuine, community-driven spirit.

Two days of live music and art

The DingsDo program weaves together live concerts featuring local and international artists—ranging from folk and reggae to dub and world music—with circus acts, acrobatics, live painting, and art installations. The event also offers more intimate experiences, such as sound baths and participatory performances on an open stage. The atmosphere is that of a contemporary village fair: relaxed, family-friendly, and a place where people of all ages can enjoy a weekend dedicated to creativity.

Sustainability and local focus

Sustainability is at the heart of the festival. Since its first edition, the cuisine has been entirely vegetarian, with ingredients sourced from South Tyrolean farmers and producers to reduce transport distances and support local supply chains. The event has eliminated single-use plastics—tableware, cutlery, and glasses are all reusable—and uses fabric wristbands and eco-friendly printed promotional materials.

A charity festival

DingsDo Festival is a true charity event: admission is by voluntary donation, and all proceeds are donated to selected projects. Donations are divided into three pillars: Dings.Do Charity Love for environmental, animal welfare, and social organizations; Dings.Do Project Bonus to support local South Tyrolean initiatives; and the Dings.Do hilft Loidner*innen fund, dedicated to residents of Laion in need.

A biennial appointment

DingsDo takes place every two years, in even-numbered years, attracting visitors from across South Tyrol. Following the 2022 and 2024 editions, the event returns in 2026, reaffirming its formula of great music, environmental commitment, and community spirit in one of the most beautiful settings in the Isarco Valley.
