The food and wine walk among the cherry blossoms of the Vignola valley
DeGusta Vignola is a food and wine walk that takes place every spring in Vignola, in the province of Modena (Emilia-Romagna), during the magical period when the valley's orchards turn white with cherry blossoms. Organized by the Pro Loco Vignola Terra di Ciliegie, the event invites you to discover, on foot and at a leisurely pace, one of the most picturesque agricultural landscapes in the Modenese province.
The route winds for about 10 kilometers, divided into seven stops, five of which are at local farms that open their doors to welcome walkers and share their work. The route crosses countryside, blooming orchards, and characteristic city views, and is designed to be suitable for everyone: families, children, and, in past editions, even those with strollers.
The true star of the day is the Vignola cherry, the symbol of the region and famous throughout Italy. Along the way, farms and local businesses offer cherry-based specialties, traditional Modenese dishes, and local wines. For those with special dietary needs, alternatives are available for celiacs, vegans, and vegetarians, as well as a junior menu for children and a baby menu for the little ones.
DeGusta Vignola is not just a tasting: it's a way to experience the Modenese countryside at the slow pace of walking, stopping at farms to hear the stories of those who cultivate the land. The walk is part of the calendar of the Festa dei Ciliegi in Fiore (Cherry Blossom Festival), the major spring event that annually celebrates the blooming and local products in Vignola. For the Municipality of Vignola and the entire Land of Cherries, it is an event that combines tourism promotion, food and wine, and the enhancement of the agricultural landscape.
Participation requires mandatory booking through the Pro Loco Vignola. Departures are in groups from the Info Point on Corso Italia, where you collect your coupon and souvenir before setting off. It is an ideal experience for those who want to combine a day outdoors with the discovery of the authentic flavors of Emilia-Romagna.
The fourth edition was held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, with an alternative date set for Sunday, April 19, in case of bad weather. Organized by the Pro Loco Vignola Terra di Ciliegie with the support of the Municipality of Vignola, the MuoviVi association, and local farms, the event confirmed the formula that led to the success of previous editions.
At each stop, it was possible to taste a menu dedicated to cherries, the undisputed star of the day: cherry-based specialties, traditional Modenese dishes, and local wines. Alternative menus were available for celiacs, vegans, and vegetarians, as well as a junior menu for children and a baby menu for the little ones.
The total duration of the experience was estimated at about six hours. Registrations closed on April 6, 2026.
