Wine, Gianese olive oil, and live music in the village of Curti, on Monte Maggiore
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Curti Wine Festival is a food, wine, and music event held in the ancient hamlet of Curti, in the municipality of Giano Vetusto, in the province of Caserta, in the heart of inland Campania. At the foot of Monte Maggiore, the small village transforms for a few days into a scattered trail of glasses, flavors, and sounds, inviting residents and visitors to rediscover the alleys, cellars, and stone houses of a long-forgotten rural community.
The heart of the festival lies in the local wine tastings, featuring labels from regional wineries, paired with traditional dishes prepared with the prized extra virgin Gianese olive oil. The town's iconic product, the guanto gianese—a traditional pastry representing the confectionery heritage of Giano Vetusto—is also a must-try. Food and wine stalls, set up throughout the village alleys, offer a journey through the agricultural excellence of Monte Maggiore in a convivial, popular atmosphere.
The event is part of the inter-municipal festival "A World of Sounds", dedicated to the musical and cultural traditions of Monte Maggiore. The project involves the municipalities of Liberi (lead partner), Castel di Sasso, Roccaromana, and Giano Vetusto, under the artistic direction of Francesco Sorrentino, and is funded by the Campania Region through the 2021-2027 Development and Cohesion Funds. Live music, viewed as a universal language and a means of popular expression, accompanies the tastings throughout every evening of the festival.
Founded in 2024 and having grown rapidly, the Curti Wine Festival is a young yet recurring event capable of attracting audiences from across the province of Caserta. Beyond the table, the event is an opportunity to enhance the historical and landscape heritage of the village of Curti and to showcase the food and wine identity of Giano Vetusto: the wine, oil, and pastries of a territory that draws its strength from tradition. An authentic festival that unites taste, culture, and community in the heart of Campania.
The Curti Wine Festival returns to Giano Vetusto, in the province of Caserta, for a new edition in the heart of the Campanian autumn. Pending official confirmation of the dates, the event is expected to maintain its successful formula: tastings of local wine and extra virgin Gianese olive oil, food stalls throughout the village alleys, the traditional guanto gianese pastry, and live music from the inter-municipal festival "A World of Sounds" on Monte Maggiore. The detailed program will be announced by the organizers and the Municipality of Giano Vetusto in the weeks leading up to the event.
Giano Vetusto is located in the province of Caserta, in the Medio Volturno area. By car, it can be reached via the State Road 158 and the provincial roads that climb Monte Maggiore; the reference train stations are Caserta or Sparanise, from which you can continue by car. In previous editions, a free shuttle service was provided from Viale Progresso (near the school complex) to the village of Curti.
The village is best explored on foot through alleys and stairways: comfortable shoes are recommended. Autumn evenings can be chilly, so a warm layer is advisable.
