Three evenings of great jazz in the Courtyard of Honour of the Casa della Musica
Crossroads is one of the longest-running and most widespread jazz festivals in Italy: a travelling event that, from March 3rd to July 31st, 2026, touches over twenty municipalities in Emilia-Romagna with around seventy events and almost five hundred musicians on stage. Organized by Jazz Network ETS in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the festival is truly a "jazz Mille Miglia" that brings major international names and emerging talents to theatres, squares, and courtyards throughout the region.
For the first time in its history, Crossroads chooses the Emilian capital for a three-consecutive-evening mini-residency. The stage is the Courtyard of Honour of the Casa della Musica, in Piazzale San Francesco, in the heart of Parma's historic centre. It is a symbolic place in the city of music par excellence, the homeland of Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini, now home to archives and institutions dedicated to sound.
The Parma stop offers a journey that ranges from classic Neapolitan song to singer-songwriter music, up to virtuoso piano playing that blends jazz, blues, and Italian melody:
Crossroads is not just a series of concerts, but a true sound map of Emilia-Romagna. The event also integrates the historic programming of Ravenna Jazz and stands out for its attention to female musicians and original projects. Experiencing the Parma stop means discovering a great regional festival in the city where music has always been part of its identity, amidst the Teatro Regio, the alleys of the centre, and the flavours of Parmesan gastronomic tradition.
For the 27th edition, from March 3rd to July 31st, 2026, Crossroads chooses Parma for the first time for a three-consecutive-evening residency in the Courtyard of Honour of the Casa della Musica. A programme that ranges from Neapolitan song to jazz, up to piano music blending blues and melody. Concerts start at 9:00 PM and are part of a regional festival with around 70 events and 500 musicians in over 20 municipalities in Emilia-Romagna.
Joe Barbieri (vocals and guitar), accompanied by guitarists Nico Di Battista and Oscar Montalbano, presents "VulÃo", a passionate and personal journey into classic Neapolitan song.
The encounter between the voice of Petra Magoni and the archlute of Ilaria Fantin, in a repertoire that spans musical eras and genres.
Raphael Gualazzi in a solo concert ranging from film scores to opera arias, from tributes to the Afro-American tradition to rhapsodic reinterpretations of memorable themes from Italian and international music.
The Casa della Musica is located in Piazzale San Francesco 1, in the historic centre of Parma, reachable on foot from the train station in about 15 minutes. Parma is well connected by train on the Milan-Bologna line and is easily accessible by car from the A1 motorway (Parma exit).
Full price ticket 16 euros, reduced price 14 euros. Online presale on www.diyticket.it and information at Jazz Network (tel. 0544 405666).
