The great travelling jazz of Emilia-Romagna stops at the Corelli Auditorium in Fusignano
Crossroads is one of the longest-running and most widespread jazz festivals in Italy: a travelling festival that every year crosses the entire Emilia-Romagna region, stopping in over twenty municipalities with a packed schedule of concerts from March to July. The organisation is curated by Jazz Network ETS, in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Emilia-Romagna Region and with the support of the Ministry of Culture. The festival's distinctive feature is its international scope combined with its widespread presence throughout the territory: from large theatres to small villages, jazz truly reaches every corner of the region.
In the Municipality of Fusignano, in the Bassa Romagna area of the province of Ravenna, Crossroads finds one of its most beloved venues: the Arcangelo Corelli Auditorium, at vicolo Belletti 2. The hall — named after the great Baroque composer and violinist born in Fusignano in 1653 — offers an intimate and warm acoustic, ideal for close listening to live jazz. Every year, the Fusignano stop offers a series of evenings that make it one of the most anticipated cultural events of the city's calendar, organised in collaboration with the Municipality of Fusignano.
The strength of Crossroads lies in its eclecticism: alongside international stars, there is space for historical masters of improvisation, emerging talents, and an extraordinary variety of styles. The Fusignano stop fully reflects this vocation, alternating between classic and contemporary jazz, singer-songwriter music, French chanson, fusions with world music, live soundtracks for silent films, and tributes to the great film composers. Over the years, the festival has hosted names such as Pat Metheny, Enrico Rava, Stefano Bollani, Richard Galliano, and Hamid Drake.
Fusignano, the birthplace of Arcangelo Corelli and a vibrant cultural hub in the Bassa Romagna, confirms its connection with great music through Crossroads, bringing Italian and international authorial jazz to Emilia-Romagna every spring.
The 2026 edition (the 27th) of Crossroads - Jazz and More in Emilia-Romagna brought seven authorial concerts to Fusignano at the Arcangelo Corelli Auditorium, in vicolo Belletti 2, from March 6 to April 17, 2026, all starting at 9:00 PM.
The Fusignano programme explored very diverse styles: from the French chanson of the Fontamar Consort to the dialogue between cello and violin by Ernst Reijseger and Mario Forte, from Eleonora Strino's quartet to the live soundtrack for the silent film Go West by Buster Keaton by Mauro Ottolini, concluding with the tribute to Ennio Morricone and Michel Legrand. The regional festival, extended from March 3 to July 31, offered around 70 concerts with 500 musicians in over twenty municipalities, touching almost all the provinces of Emilia-Romagna. Among the headliners of the entire 2026 edition were Pat Metheny, Grupo Compay Segundo, Enrico Rava, Hamid Drake, Isaiah Collier, and Lakecia Benjamin.
