The Creative Fashion Show is one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Ventimiglia di Sicilia, a small town in the mountainous hinterland of the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Sicily. Every year, in the evocative setting of the Municipal Amphitheatre in Piazza Santa Rosalia, an evening takes place that turns fashion into an act of ecological awareness: the outfits on the runway are not born in ateliers, but from the clever reuse of materials destined for the landfill.
When art meets sustainability
Plastic, paper, aluminium, glass, copper, and recycled fabrics become the raw materials for true sartorial creations. The participants, mostly local youth, bring to life surprising outfits that blend aesthetics with an environmental message. The show takes the form of a competition: a jury evaluates originality, technique, and visual impact, leading to the final awards ceremony that closes the evening and recognises the most successful designs.

Founded around 2009, the event has become a true must of the local summer over the years, capable of attracting residents and visitors from neighbouring towns. The Municipal Amphitheatre, which can accommodate about two thousand spectators, fills with an audience eager to witness a show that is at once fashion, performance, and a community celebration. The evening is part of a broader summer programme of concerts, food festivals, and performances that animate the village in August.
Environmental culture and community identity
Beyond the spectacle, the Creative Fashion Show promotes an educational message on the theme of recycling and the circular economy, involving the younger generations in particular. The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Ventimiglia di Sicilia with the patronage of the Sicilian Region through the Regional Department of Productive Activities.

How to get there
Ventimiglia di Sicilia is located in the hinterland, about 40 km from Palermo. By car, it can be reached via the A19 Palermo-Catania motorway (Villabate or Bagheria exit), continuing towards the interior; the village is also connected by provincial bus lines. The nearest airport is Palermo-Punta Raisi.

The show is held at the Municipal Amphitheatre in Piazza Santa Rosalia, in the centre of the town.
