About Creare Danza
Contemporary dance in Orvieto
Creare Danza Orvieto is a project dedicated to contemporary dance, born and rooted in the city of Orvieto, in the province of Terni. The initiative brings together a group of dancers and trainers, all residents or natives of the city, with the aim of bringing authorial dance into a historical context of great charm.
A journey between technique and perception
The project offers a training course ranging from technique to perception, from internal intentions to the relationship with space, through workshops, somatic practices, classes, improvisations, and compositions. The main venue for the workshops is the 14th-century Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo, while the city's squares and other spaces host interventions and performances.
Two events a year
Creare Danza is divided into a winter edition, also hosted at the Teatro del Carmine, and a summer edition. When functional to the training experience, the course culminates in a final performance open to the public, an opportunity to share the work done by the dancers, professionals or in training, with the community.
Creare Danza — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Creare Danza Orvieto is developed in two distinct moments. The winter edition (February 27th – March 1st) takes place at the Teatro del Carmine, while the summer edition (July 27th – August 3rd) is held at the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo.
Both sessions offer a journey that intertwines technique, perception, and composition, involving dancers and trainers connected to the city of Orvieto. When functional to the work, a concluding performance open to the public is planned.

How to get here
Orvieto is reachable by train on the Rome-Florence line (Orvieto Scalo station + funicular) and by car from the A1 motorway, Orvieto exit. Activities take place in the historic centre.
