The most iconic historic cars arrive at the foot of Mont Blanc
The Coupe des Alpes is a prestigious regularity race for historic cars that revives the spirit of the mythical Alpine rally, one of the toughest and most iconic competitions in 20th-century motorsport. Along the scenic roads of the Alps, the most famous vintage cars parade, driven by passionate crews who compete not on pure speed but on precision, on a journey that is both a sporting challenge and a tribute to the history of motoring.
The 2026 edition, the 37th, marks a special moment: the route, starting from Évian-les-Bains and passing through Megève and Serre-Chevalier, chooses Courmayeur as the final destination for the first time. At the foot of Mont Blanc, in the Aosta Valley, the Jardin de l'Ange welcomes the pace car to kick off the closing ceremony, while on Sunday morning the Via delle Forges car park hosts the exhibition of the cars, open to enthusiasts and the curious.
The arrival in Courmayeur is also enhanced by the screening of Coupe des Alpes – The story of the 1958 Alpine Rally, the 1959 documentary by John Armstrong that recounts the epic of the Alpine rally. For visitors, the Courmayeur stop is an opportunity to admire a collection of historic automobiles up close in one of Italy's most evocative Alpine settings.
