Cotignola Beer Festival

A tradition spanning over thirty years

The Cotignola Beer Festival is one of the most beloved summer events in Bassa Romagna. Born in the early nineties, it has grown edition after edition to become a true homemade Oktoberfest: in 2026, it will reach its 33rd edition. For five evenings, the Municipality of Cotignola, in the province of Ravenna, gathers around a beer mug at the Vassura sports field on Via Dante Alighieri 30.

German beers and Romagnola cuisine

The heart of the festival is the food stand, open every evening, where you can taste traditional Romagnola dishes — grilled meats, piadine, pasta, and local specialties — designed to accompany the selected German beers tapped fresh. This is the formula that has always united two souls: the Bavarian one of the river of beer and the entirely local one of good Emilia-Romagna food.

Live music every night

Each evening features concerts and DJ sets starting at 9:00 PM, with a program ranging from rock to punk comedy, from cover bands to tributes, up to rock parties that liven up the night after 11:00 PM. Over the years, very popular bands from the Romagnola and national scene have performed, such as Moka Club, HornyToorinchos, Io e i Gomma Gommas, and many other acts, with tribute nights and DJs keeping the audience dancing until late at night.

A popular and free festival

Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of a big village festival: long tables, friends, families, and lots of fun. Organized by the Assogim association, the Beer Festival is now a classic of the summer calendar in Cotignola and the entire Union of Municipalities of Bassa Romagna, capable of uniting multiple generations around music, beer, and conviviality.

Cotignola and Bassa Romagna

Cotignola is a small municipality in the province of Ravenna, located on the Senio river and part of the Union of Municipalities of Bassa Romagna, a short distance from Lugo and Bagnacavallo. It is a plain land with a strong agricultural and food and wine vocation, where local festivals and village fairs mark the summer. In this context, the Beer Festival represents the most anticipated event of the season: for five evenings, the Vassura sports field becomes the meeting point not only for the people of Cotignola but for all of Bassa Romagna, who find here the taste of outdoor conviviality, typical of the Romagnola summer. It is also a perfect opportunity for passing visitors who want to discover the hospitality and good food of this corner of Emilia-Romagna.
