«Corti in Tavola» is the most anticipated food and wine event of the summer in Caprarica di Lecce, a small town in the Province of Lecce, in the heart of Salento. Every year, on a July evening, the town's historic center turns into a sprawling itinerary of flavors, music, and culture: the historic courtyards, patios, and squares of the old town open their doors, becoming stops on a long, open-air stroll to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, one taste at a time.

Olive oil, wine, and the flavors of Salento

Caprarica di Lecce is a recognized «City of Oil», and extra virgin olive oil is the true star of the festival, alongside local wines and traditional Salento cuisine. Along the route, local restaurateurs and food vendors offer tastings of typical products, while guided tours of the fascinating hypogeum oil mills—testaments to the land's millenary olive-growing tradition—are also available. It is a unique opportunity to discover the gastronomic identity of the most authentic Puglia, where small villages preserve recipes and knowledge passed down through generations.

Music, theater, and memory

«Corti in Tavola» is about more than just food: the stroll is accompanied by a rich program of concerts, theatrical performances, readings, and workshops held in the various courtyards. The itinerary features a mix of folk and Mediterranean music, Salento singing, theater, and storytelling, with prominent artists from the Apulian scene and beyond. A common thread has always linked the event to the figure of Antonio Verri, a writer and poet born in Caprarica, whose memory lives on through verses, readings, and tributes scattered along the route.

A community event

Born as a local village festival and grown edition after edition, «Corti in Tavola» is organized by the Municipality of Caprarica di Lecce in collaboration with local restaurateurs, associations, and businesses, with artistic coordination that has given the event a refined and original touch over the years. The format of a widespread, free, and open-to-all village event makes it one of the most beloved food and wine evenings of the Salento summer: you walk, you taste, you listen to music, and you experience the village as one big shared table under the July stars.
