The non-competitive cross-country run in Fiorano Canavese, following the path of the Via Francigena
The Corrifiorano along the Via Francigena is the spring running event in Fiorano Canavese, a small village of medieval origin nestled in the hills of the Ivrea Morainic Amphitheatre, in the Metropolitan City of Turin. It is a non-competitive cross-country race open to all: whether you are a trained runner, a family with children, or simply a walking enthusiast, what matters here is the desire to be together in the open air.
The event takes its name from the Via Francigena in the Canavese, the ancient pilgrimage route that retraces the journey made in 990 by Archbishop Sigeric from Rome to Canterbury. The Canavese section stretches between Pont-Saint-Martin and the Biella area, crossing a territory of rare beauty: green woods, small morainic lakes formed by retreating glaciers, and the gentle hills surrounding Ivrea. Running or walking through this landscape means rediscovering a piece of Piedmont's history and nature.
The event is organized by the Municipality of Fiorano Canavese in collaboration with AVIS and AIDO Ivrea, associations that promote blood and organ donation. Participation, with a symbolic entry fee, supports these organizations and spreads an awareness message: moving is good for you and, at the same time, can help others.
The meeting point and start are at the Fiorano Canavese Sports Field, on Via Loranzè, from where participants set off along a route that crosses the local countryside and trails. The setting is typical of Canavese villages: quiet, authentic, and human-scale. A perfect opportunity to combine physical activity with the discovery of a territory often off the beaten track.
The March 29, 2026 event confirmed the well-established formula of the festival: a non-competitive cross-country race open to all, starting at 10:00 AM from the Fiorano Canavese Sports Field (Via Loranzè).
The event, promoted by the Municipality of Fiorano Canavese in collaboration with AVIS and AIDO Ivrea, combined outdoor sports practice with awareness-raising on blood and organ donation. The 5-euro registration fee contributed to supporting the charitable goals of the day.
The organization, managed by the Municipality with AVIS and AIDO Ivrea, included a symbolic participation fee of 5 euros.
Fiorano Canavese is located a few kilometres from Ivrea, in the Metropolitan City of Turin. By car, it can be reached via the A5 Turin-Aosta motorway (Ivrea exit), then continuing towards the Canavese area. The reference railway station is Ivrea, which is well-connected to Turin.
Fiorano Canavese Sports Field, Via Loranzè. It is recommended to arrive early for on-site registration.
Registration fee of 5 euros. The event is non-competitive and open to everyone, from children to adults.
