The spring concert by the Müjiga de Badia in the heart of Val Badia
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Conzert d'aisciöda — in the Ladin language of Val Badia, aisciöda means spring — is the annual concert with which the Müjiga de Badia (known in German as Musikkapelle Abtei) welcomes the arrival of the warmer season. The event is held at the J. B. Runcher event hall, located on Str. San Linert in Badia, within the municipality of Badia/Abtei in Alta Badia, in the autonomous province of Bolzano, in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige region.
The music bands of the Ladin valleys have preserved a precious tradition for generations: they are a cornerstone of village social life and offer young people the opportunity to discover and cultivate their musical talent. The Badia band brings together musicians of all ages, united by their passion for band culture and wind music. Throughout the 20th century, the ensemble grew significantly thanks to Giuvani Valentin da Valgiarëi (1904-1994), who served as bandmaster for over forty years, elevating its standards and consolidating its prestige.
The concert features a varied repertoire of wind band music: traditional marches and overtures, symphonic and sacred pieces, film themes, and original compositions for wind orchestra. The evening is both a celebration and a showcase of the work carried out by the musicians throughout the year, performing for the community of Badia and visitors to Alta Badia.
The Conzert d'aisciöda is part of the rich cultural calendar of Alta Badia and the dense network of concerts held by the valley's music bands, from nearby Corvara-Calfosch to Colfosco and La Val. Attending the concert is a chance to connect with the Ladin culture of this corner of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and to enjoy an authentic evening in the company of the residents of the Municipality of Badia.
For 2026, the Badia music band is planning its traditional Conzert d'aisciöda, the spring concert at the J. B. Runcher hall in Badia (province of Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige). The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been published: the event is usually held in May. The program, featuring wind band music, will be announced by the Müjiga de Badia closer to the concert date.
Badia can be reached by car via the SS244 Val Badia road; the J. B. Runcher event hall is located at Str. San Linert 10. By train, the reference station is Bressanone/Brixen, which is connected to Badia by local bus services (SAD/Südtirol Mobil). The nearest airports are Bolzano, Innsbruck, and Verona.
The concert by the Badia music band is traditionally free of charge. For updated dates, it is recommended to contact the band ([email protected], tel. +39 334 9951552) or the Alta Badia tourist office.
