The challenge between the districts of Morbegno

The Contrade Games are one of the most heartfelt and identity-defining events in Morbegno (Province of Sondrio). The eight historic districts of the town — Adda, Bottà, Ganda, Madonna, San Giovanni, San Pietro, San Rocco, and Serta — face each other in a series of challenges that, for several weeks in May, liven up the neighborhoods with the typical village spirit of inter-district competitions.

Sports, games, and culture

The districts compete in various sports and cultural races, in a calendar of events that involves both adults and children. The competition is a pretext for gathering, celebrating, and strengthening neighborly bonds, in a format that blends sportsmanship, fun, and popular tradition. Each district competes for its own community, with involvement that spans generations.

Organized by Pro Loco Morbegno, the Contrade Games are much more than a simple competition: they represent a moment of collective identity for the town, capable of enhancing the history of its districts and animating the center with events and initiatives. An event that tells the authentic spirit of Morbegno and the Bassa Valtellina.
