A weekend of culture, local heritage, creativity, and flavors in the village of Castellengo
For an entire weekend, the village of Castellengo, a small hamlet in the municipality of Cossato in the Province of Biella, opens its doors to visitors with Connessioni. It is not just an event, but a true multi-faceted narrative that brings culture, local heritage, creativity, and the great flavors of the Piedmontese tradition into dialogue. The initiative, promoted by the Associazione Stilelibero with the support of the Municipality of Cossato, transforms this corner of the Biella region into an open-air, widespread laboratory for two days.
The nerve center of the event is the Ecomuseo del Cossatese e delle Baragge, located at Via Castellengo 16F. Dedicated to the rural civilization of the Cossato area—from agricultural practices and forestry to small-scale craftsmanship—the ecomuseum preserves the memory of a territory marked by the evocative Baragge, the heathlands that characterize this strip of plain at the foot of the Biellese Prealps. Connessioni is the perfect opportunity to discover it up close, accompanied by guided tours that reveal the history of the village, dominated by the famous Castello di Castellengo, an ancient feudal dwelling transformed over the centuries into a noble residence.
The program revolves around a series of artistic and educational workshops with free admission, upon reservation, conducted by local artists and organizations:
Enriching the two days are guided tours of the village and the ecomuseum, meetings, and moments dedicated to local flavors, featuring the food and wine excellence of the Cossatese area—starting with the Nebbiolo wines of the Coste della Sesia DOC produced on these hills.
Connessioni is an intimate event, far from mass tourism, that makes slowness and authenticity its strengths. Less than an hour from Turin and Milan, Castellengo offers the perfect opportunity for a spring getaway to discover a lesser-known but incredibly rich Piedmont, where landscape, art, and tradition intertwine in an immersive and personal experience.
The 2026 edition of Connessioni in Castellengo was held on Saturday, May 23rd, and Sunday, May 24th, opening at 9:30 AM on the first day and closing at 6:00 PM on Sunday. The village of Castellengo opened its doors for a weekend of culture, history, local heritage, and flavors, organized by the Associazione Stilelibero with the Municipality of Cossato.
The heart of the event consisted of free artistic and educational workshops requiring reservation, complemented by guided tours of the village and the ecomuseum, as well as meetings dedicated to the excellence of the Biella territory.
All workshops were free to attend, upon reservation at the Culture Office of the Municipality of Cossato.
