Comabbio's Summer, by the Lakeside

In Comabbio, a municipality of just over a thousand inhabitants overlooking Lake Comabbio in the province of Varese, the month of July brings the most anticipated event of the summer: the Luglio Comabbiese. The festival, organized by Pro Loco Comabbio with the patronage of the Municipality, takes place at the sports field on Via della Madonnina and lasts for three evenings, usually at the beginning of the month.

Lake Flavors and Mixed Fried Food

The heart of the event is the food stand, which offers different specialties each evening. The perch risotto, a flagship dish of Varesotto lakeside cuisine, is a must, alongside mixed fried food and more informal options like gyros. Simple, local cuisine, designed for outdoor evenings.

Live Music Every Night

Alongside the food, the Luglio Comabbiese focuses on entertainment: each evening features a different musical offering, from vinyl DJ sets to cabarock, to revival nights with the greatest hits of all time. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of convivial village festivals, where different generations come together.

Lake Comabbio, a nature reserve and a destination for excursions and cycle tourism, provides the backdrop for the festival. Visiting Comabbio during the Luglio Comabbiese means discovering a tranquil corner of the Varesotto, where the gastronomic tradition of lake fish remains the star.
