About Colores del Flamenco

An evening dedicated to 20th-century Spain, where flamenco guitar meets and blends with the great Iberian classical tradition. At La Bricula in Cortiglione, in the province of Asti, guitarist Roberto Margaritella and dancer Anna Sinel bring to life a choreographic-musical journey that weaves together the works of Albéniz, Tárrega, and Ramon Montoya with the evocative power of flamenco dance. An open-air cultural event in the heart of the Asti Monferrato.

A journey through 20th-century Spain

The concert Colores del Flamenco — 20th-Century Spain between Classical and Flamenco offers an evocative choreographic-musical journey that tells the story of the Spanish musical soul of the last century, where the world of flamenco meets and merges with that of the great Iberian classical tradition. The stars of the evening are guitarist Roberto Margaritella, on flamenco guitar, and dancer and choreographer Anna Sinel, who accompanies the dialogue between strings and movement with her baile.

The musical program

The repertoire spans some of the most beloved pages of guitar and flamenco literature: from the flamenco version of Isaac Albéniz's Asturias to Francisco Tárrega's Recuerdos de la Alhambra, and on to the Malagueña y Verdiales and Bulerías of the Andalusian tradition, featuring compositions by Ramon Montoya. The result is a continuous dialogue between classical rigor and the fire of flamenco, lasting approximately ninety minutes.

  • Roberto Margaritella — a graduate of the Genoa Conservatory, he later specialized in flamenco guitar, collaborating with internationally renowned artists.
  • Anna Sinel — a dancer and choreographer, she studied Spanish dance with world-class masters and has participated in numerous flamenco performances in Italy and abroad.

The setting: La Bricula in Cortiglione

The event takes place at La Bricula, in the Gabella area, in the municipality of Cortiglione, in the province of Asti. The La Bricula association was founded to promote and preserve the rural and artisanal traditions of the Asti Monferrato area through a museum, publications, debates, exhibitions, and performances. The cultural series hosting this concert thus enhances the bond between classical music, dance, and local identity in one of the most picturesque hilly areas of Piedmont.

A cultural event in Monferrato

Part of a musical project that the performers have brought to various locations in Piedmont, Colores del Flamenco in Cortiglione offers the public a refined opportunity to discover the passion and colors of Iberian culture in an intimate and evocative setting. In case of bad weather, the event will be held indoors at the Salone Valrosetta in Piazza Padre Pio.
