The Termeno/Tramin stop of the Bassa Atesina inter-municipal classical music festival
Classic and More is a classical and chamber music festival that brings the Bassa Atesina (Unterland)—the southernmost part of the autonomous province of Bolzano in Trentino-Alto Adige—to life every summer. The festival was founded with the vision of taking great music beyond the traditional concert halls, bringing it into the civic centers, churches, and historic squares of this bilingual region. The Municipality of Termeno sulla strada del vino/Tramin an der Weinstraße is one of the festival's stops, hosting a concert in its Bürgerhaus, the town's Cultural Center.
The unique character of Classic and More lies in its itinerant, inter-municipal nature. Born as a collaborative project between the towns of the Bassa Atesina, the festival unites nine municipalities—Ora, Bronzolo, Cortaccia, Cortina sulla Strada del Vino, Egna, Vadena, Salorno, Termeno, and Trodena—which take turns hosting the concerts. Each evening moves to a new location, allowing the audience to discover a different corner of the territory. In Termeno, the concert takes place in the Bürgerhaus, a space perfectly suited for chamber music, located in the heart of a town world-famous for its Gewürztraminer grapes.
The festival is a project that bridges tradition and innovation: alongside evening concerts featuring major repertoire, the program includes educational events, evenings dedicated to families and young people, forays into dance, and performances that combine sound and imagery. At its core remains chamber music—string quartets, wind ensembles, trios, and soloists—with an artistic standard curated by the festival's directors, who have brought both South Tyrolean musicians and international guests to the Bassa Atesina over the years.
One of the hallmarks of Classic and More is that it is free of charge: concerts are open to the public, with the option of a voluntary donation. On several evenings, part of the proceeds is donated to local charitable causes, such as supporting the local St. Vincent de Paul community. This approach makes the festival an accessible gateway to classical music for everyone—from families and young people to the elderly—and has made it a beloved appointment for the communities across the Unterland.
Located along the South Tyrolean Wine Road, amidst vineyards and apple orchards, Termeno sulla strada del vino/Tramin an der Weinstraße is a charming bilingual town, famous for its aromatic Gewürztraminer and its historic center featuring the Church of San Valentino. Attending a Classic and More concert at the Bürgerhaus means experiencing the most authentic side of South Tyrol: a region where Central European musical tradition meets Italian cultural vibrancy, all set within a landscape of rare beauty.
The 17th edition of the inter-municipal festival Classic and More stops in Termeno sulla strada del vino/Tramin an der Weinstraße, in the Bassa Atesina, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 8:30 PM, in the town's Bürgerhaus (Cultural Center). The evening features the Trio Astrodi, composed of Sophie Pardatscher (clarinet), Christian Bertoncello (cello), and Maximilian Trebo (piano): an ensemble that offers a high-level classical program, centered on the sensitive dialogue between the three instruments.
The Termeno concert is part of the festival's itinerant calendar, which visits various Unterland municipalities in 2026. As per tradition, admission is free, with the option of a voluntary donation: part of the proceeds will be donated to the local St. Vincent de Paul community. An event open to everyone—classical music enthusiasts, families, young people, and the elderly—in the heart of one of the most famous towns on the South Tyrolean Wine Road.
Termeno sulla strada del vino/Tramin an der Weinstraße is located along the Wine Road, south of Bolzano. By car, it can be reached via the A22 Brenner motorway (Egna/Ora or Bolzano Sud exit). The nearest train station is Ora/Auer, on the Bolzano–Trento line, which is connected to Termeno by bus services. The festival concert is held in the Bürgerhaus, the town's Cultural Center.
The concert is free to attend, with the possibility of a voluntary donation (partially donated to charity). We recommend checking the date and time on the official Classic and More festival calendar and the event agenda on the Termeno tourism portal.
