The Città di Empoli National Swimming Meeting is a staple of the Tuscan and national swimming calendar. Organized by Team Nuoto Toscana Empoli ASD, it takes place at the municipal pool in Empoli, located on Viale delle Olimpiadi in the heart of the Province of Florence. The event is considered one of the most prestigious and long-standing swimming meets in Tuscany, consistently attracting a vast number of competitive athletes year after year.

Each year, the meeting brings together around 1,200 athletes registered with the Italian Swimming Federation (FIN), representing dozens of sports clubs from across the country. While Tuscany leads with the highest number of participating clubs, teams from Lazio, Campania, Lombardy, Marche, Piedmont, and Liguria also compete. The races cover the Esordienti A, Ragazzi, and Assoluti (Elite) categories, creating a unique environment where youth talent competes alongside established professional swimmers.

Throughout its history, the Città di Empoli Trophy has featured top names in Italian swimming: from Federica Pellegrini and Gabriele Detti to Rachele Bruni, Lorenzo Zazzeri, and Sara Franceschi. How the competition works

The three-day event is divided into morning and afternoon sessions, featuring a packed schedule of races across various styles and distances. The top three finishers in each event are awarded medals, while the overall team ranking is determined by the cumulative points earned by each club's athletes; the winning team takes home the Città di Empoli Trophy. It is not uncommon for event records to be broken during the weekend, a testament to the high technical level of the competition.
